Veracity

Veracity in real dictionary term means truthfulness. The word truth in real life however has varied meaning although in common usage it means having consistency in one’s character and action. The opposite of truth is falseness which again has several interpretations by different people.

Truthfulness has lot of interpretations and is generally taken in common language as an act that is in accordance with reality. Truthfulness or veracity is a common topic among social scientists and philosophers. In spite of the above definition of truth it is still a widely debated subject and has been interpreted in different ways in different communities.

Truth is an important matter for the success of proper completion of a civilized social life. Therefore, being truthful or showing veracity is the prerequisite of ethical conduct of life and this goes for all activities of human existence. Truth can exist in different forms in the world and can be subjective, objective, relative or absolute.

The truth about veracity

Veracity is the synonym of truthfulness and this is what the general population of the world practices or tends to practice. There is no proper living or lifetime achievement of objectives in a life led away from truth. The deviation of truth can have disastrous consequences on the mind of the person irrespective of the fact that he or she is trying to live a lie. The same is for truth or veracityin business or service or in any activity where being truthful has an important meaning.

The veracity of something to be truthful is all the more important in the present world as human beings are dependent on the products and services that the world produces. It is therefore quite inevitable that the products should contain the veracity of what it is meant for and what it is good for as claimed by the manufacturers. Otherwise the consumers would be duped.

The importance of truthfulness in products and services

The topic of veracity assumes importance in ascertaining the quality and the authentication of the product or service that an average person has to consume. One such veracity certificate is quite necessary in the field of medical products where there are as many dubious products in circulation as there are good ones. Apart from these dubious ones there are other products which reportedly make use of publicity campaigns and having got some safe ingredients they dupe the public with stories of the wonder drug. In spite of the standards of manufacturing imposed by governments the world over there are companies which try to take advantage of these loop holes.

The question of veracity of such products is the need of the day as this is more so in the case with medication. Since, a thin line usually divides the pure and non pure medicines as almost all drugs are not all that easily identifiable as far as quality is concerned, it is imperative that the drug standards should be monitored by an unbiased group of experts. Through feedback of response and by ascertaining the veracity of the product and the claims in the packages as well as the advertisements periodical monitoring should be done on a regular basis.

In all aspects the consumer awareness is very important as then only the product that is marketed as genuine, yet not so, could be segregated from the items that are genuine. The matter is more urgent due to the fact that unlike any other products the medicines can sometimes give severe or life threatening side effects.

Thus, truthfulness for all occasions is the best thing as there is no need for the consumers to have any apprehension about the product as well as the need for making quick money on the part of the manufacturers.

Therefore it is seen that veracity is a subject of intense debate especially where the products and services are concerned. It has become a matter of great importance as there are a lot of steroid based drug which one way or the other creates side effects in people who consume them. Some people are basing their opinions on anecdotal evidence which by itself is not unbiased and therefore are quite risky to take. Yet the people consume these drugs thinking them as genuine. In order to establish the veracity of these drugs the doctor should be consulted.

Many herbals too are marketed as being 100% safe, yet who knows that these may be harboring deadly microorganisms due to the absence of proper manufacturing and ethical practice or ethical way of doing the business. The truth would one day come out for truth unlike any other substance is bound to come out sooner or later yet for those consuming these items it can be a little too late.

Hence, to get to the truth of the matter should be in everybody’s mind and they should be able to identify the genuine from the fake although the fake products are better marketed and publicized. And by being selective can the veracity of the products be brought to light.
