Suboxone Side Effects

Drug abuses occur in people either intentionally or due to continued use of opioid prescriptions during illnesses. In order to counteract against the growing symptoms of addiction suboxone side effects are ignored for mitigating a chronic pain. It is a semi-synthetic medication with high potential of lessening different types of pain including those moderate to acute pain in non-opioid tolerant patients.

Suboxone is among the several Bentley compound and is an extract from the alkaloid of the opium poppy plant. Its uses have been mainly as a pain killer and are sold under the brand name Suboxone although in general the medication is referred to as Buprenophine.

Suboxone uses for both mental and physical pain

Suboxone containing buprenorphine and naloxone is an approved medication for the treatment of addiction. It is a semi-synthetic opioid which is used for treating opioid addiction among the people with a history of drug abuse. The medication is taken orally or the same is injected into the body. The drug has been used for treatment of cancer pains and other types of pain.

The medication has been approved by the medical fraternities as a prescription drug meant to be used for certain pain as it is more effective. This is especially seen so when soboxone is in the system it has the potential to block endogenous endorphins from binding to receptors. Once, this happens then there are fewer chances of endogenous endorphins from influencing psychological mood swings and its resultant alterations adding equal worry to both the patient and the doctor.

The above factor can create cognitive and memory deficiencies in the patient and therefore the timely medication of suboxone is a must in such cases. Suboxone side effects are much like those of other opioid drugs and must be monitored closely by the doctor so as to see that the symptoms do not go beyond his or her control.

It is used for chronic cancer pain and also some other pains and the medication are generally given upon the doctor’s advice.

An effective check against endogenous endorphins

Suboxine is a semi-synthetic drug and thus its high dosage power is not quite tolerant to several people although the potential of the medication is enormous. It can effectively check the rapid binding techniques of the endogenous endorphins on the receptors of the brain.

As the brain should work properly for carrying out daily routine activities it is therefore a must for the drug to check the advances of endogenous endorphins. The reward system inside the brain gets blocked due to the effects of endogenous endorphins and this is essential for memory formation and normal functioning of the brain. It is therefore seen that suboxine one of the brand names for the more generally known buprenophine.

In some cases the doctors have been prescribing the drug for its potent role as an anti-depressant. This is especially for those patients who cannot tolerate conventional thymoleptic anti-depressant and develops serious symptoms due to their continuation.

Since, both mental and physical pain is regulated by the same chemical network in the brain the effect of administering suboxine is two fold.

Suboxine side effects can range from serious to moderate affects and mainly seen in patients continuing the intake of the medication for a long period. If suboxine is taken via self-medication then this can cause serious problems as the patient may not be able to diagnose the symptoms caused by it with the reactions from other drugs taken alongside.

Switching from suboxine to other opioid drugs is said to be relatively safer although the same cannot be said of switching from other opioid drugs to suboxine.

It is actually two drugs in one single pill or tablet and the effect of both these are essential for mitigating the pain in the system. In other words, suboxone is a mixture of buprenorphine and naloxone. Thus, in many cases the doctors explore lesser options before administering suboxone.

What are the Suboxone side effects

In a previous post, I have discussed the vancomycin side effects. Similar to other opioid drugs suboxone has several far reaching side effects as well those that are mild to moderate. The worst types of side effects are caused when patients takes the medication by chewing or crushing and then injecting it into the system. This produces severe opiate withdrawal symptoms in people.

Among the milder side effects are drowsiness, vomiting and respiratory depression. There are several instances of memory loss, cognitive and neural inhibition in patients when the medication is continued for prolonged period. Itchiness, dry mouth, miosis, orthostatic hypertension are also quite common as side effects. Apart from these the male patients may experience ejaculation difficulties, decreased libido ad urinary problems although the latter may be found in both the sexes.

Among the severe side effects of using subaxone are the respiratory depression and other depression that needs to be monitored closely by the doctor. The medication when taken along with sedatives, hypnotics and tranquilizers can have very serious implications which mean that it is an emergency.

The respiratory difficulties occur mainly because of the intolerance of the patient’s system against the suboxone and this reacts with the central nervous system and in turn creates this side effects. Otherwise, suboxone side effects can be mitigated if timely check ups are taken.

In the next post, we will discuss the spirulina side effects.
