The side effects of using Stevia still require a serious study and that is the reason why it has been classified as a supplement in diets by the FDA. The chances of the metabolic activity of a person getting hampered are high if he or she consumes higher quantities of Stevia. Getting nauseous and frequents headaches are some other common side effects of stevia. Excessive intake of Stevia is reported to cause infertility as per the tests conducted on rats and hamsters. This can also result in miscarriages and the birth of premature babies. Though cancer cannot be directly linked with Stevia, some reports do speak otherwise.
